ABetter.bid, also known as A Better Bid LLC. are scammers. For starters, the website fundamentally operates on a series of rigged backend programs. These programs will adjust the rate of your bid and make it appear as if someone else is bidding, when in all actuality it’s you bidding against yourself. Additional issues stem from non-deliveries, excessive fee’s and poor customer service.
The crazy thing about A Better Bid (abetter.bid) is that they claim to be the #1 Online Car Auction Site in North America. When in reality that’s as far from the truth as it could ever get. The website is ranked the 53,011th most visited site in the United States (172,515th in the world). This places it far behind the pack of hundreds of other vehicle auction websites. Right off the bat they are trying to lie to you…
Many unsuspecting individuals who land on A Better Bid’s website fall for the sales pitches and believe that the website is indeed one of the largest in the country. It should also be noted that the company isn’t even BBB certified...
HAWK Says: I would never buy a car from this site simply because they attempt to manipulate the buyer right from the start.
Customer Submitted Reviews
2/9/2018 – Manipulation
“They told me to bid and buy a car knowing what state I was from, then once I bought the car they told me I had to find someone from another state to sign for it because they don’t have a license to sell to my state. If I didn’t conform to this fraud they were going to keep the title and attempt to repossess the vehicle I had already fully paid for. There are lots of other sites, these people are scammers.”
1/24/2018 – Fake Bidding
“Their website is a scam. I went on to bid on a car and as I was bidding it displays as if you are bidding against someone. You aren’t, you are bidding against yourself. I stopped bidding because I didn’t want to go any higher, then received a message that I won the bid? I verified this with the staff at A Better Bid that it always happens this way. I literally paid $800.00 more than I should have. I even have email proof that the company is aware that this happens but they will not do anything about it. It is completely illegal to run the bidding this way. What a way to get more money for their vehicles.”
12/10/2017 – Hidden Fee’s
I purchased 3 cars through them, the auction goes smoothly because it is driven by Coparts web site. The rest if my experiences were horrible, first purchase came with additional fees because they did not remove the car in time even though the trucking was aranged by them. Dlivery was delayed bumper damaged during shipment. Car put in driveway and driver left without leaving the key, it took three weeks to get the keys and paper work. A Betterbid was no help! THe next two cars and trucking were purchased and paid for one day after the auction, due to the lack of professionalism, lack of email responses and extended time left on hold, once again I was hit with additional fees due to their inadequacies. We had received 3 different invoices per car for three different prices, they do not read detailed instructions provided for paperwork or freight instructions. We will no longer use their services nor will we refer them.
12/6/2017 – Never Delivered
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY ON PLANET EARTH. i BOUGHT A 2015 BMW I8 VEHICLE FROM THEM PAID ALL THE NECESSARY FEES OVERCHARGED ME FOR SHIPPING AND ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS STILL HAVENT RECEIVED THE VEHICLE. THEY KEEP TELLING ME EVERY WEEK ITS BEEN DELIVERED. AND THAT THEY LEFT SOME PARTS AT COPART TILL TODAY I HAVENT RECIEVED THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE MY MONEY
11/20/2017 – Hidden Fee’s (Again)
“They entice you with a supposed low service fee of $250 per transaction but in reality they have hidden extra fees into the copart auction fee. Copart fee chart is available on copart site comparing that to what abetter.bid says there is a difference of several hundred dollars.”
11/13/2017 – Zero Customer Service
“It has been the worst experience I come across so far. I was thinking that they are professional on what they do. They do not value their customers at all. I send them emails and they do not reply. I always have to call them to get things done even after I call they will not do whatever they promise to do. I am laterally fed up with their customer support I wish I have not dealt with them. This will be the first and last time to deal with such a company. I am now trying to get the trucking number of my car, I have already call them 5 days ago and they promised me to send the tracking number within a day as always and no thing comes back. My suggestion is (do not deal with them at the first place, just find someone else).”
The Bottom Line: You know how the old saying goes… “If it’s too good to be true, it usually is”. In this case, A Better Bid is definitely NOT a better bid…
SCUMBAGGED Tip: Purchase a car from a direct seller always first and foremost. Or an auction, or a dealer or eBay (buyer protection is awesome). Why buy from a questionable site that pretends to be something that it’s not?
Attention cheats.
They change your purchase price by themselves.
They make a deposit.

paypal does not have to support this type of company.
I have purchased two vehicles from abetterbid, and some of the complaints against them are valid but most of them were more of the customer not doing their homework before buying. My complaints were mentioned, but one that wasn’t was the prices people bid. It seems like people are bidding more than the value of the vehicle. No professional bidder would do that, but when the general public gets involved it can easily turn into a bidding war with someone overbidding.
I did that on a Mercedes with super low miles, plus I was bidding against myself. It is true that abetterbid stops saying if you are the highest bidder when the bidding gets intense, so you might be bidding against yourself because the screen isn’t showing the names of bidders. One trick against a bidding war is to place your final bid in the last few seconds. Another method that is harder to do is use two computers with one bidder in a different name because it seems they are only not showing the bidders name that is involved while everyone else who CAN see the names of the bidders. Another way is to pre-bid the item to the most you are willing to pay so you don’t pay too much. And don’t watch the bidding!
