CLEVELAND, OHIO – Greg Croucher, the Warden of the Cuyahoga County Jail has currently been placed in 7-14 day COVID-19 quarantine. Warden Croucher took a trip to Jamaica and was intentionally dishonest about his trip upon his return to the jail. The C.C.J currently has a checkpoint/temperature check for all persons entering the confines of the jail. This has been established since the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and is a precautionary method that has been put in place to help prevent the spread of the highly contagious viral coronavirus infection. A high-ranking anonymous correction officer who has been employed at the C.C.J for more than 15 years is responsible for this article and also had the following to say… “He circumvented our coronavirus checkpoint after his return flight from Jamaica & entered the jail anyways!”.
Upon returning to work from a 3 day suspension (for having a correctional officer drive him to the airport on company time), Warden Croucher cirvumvented the checkpoint and proceeded to enter the jail directly from the parking garage. Once it was identified that he had no armband on (armbands are issued to those who pass through the checkpoints) he was escorted back down to the checkpoint to answer Non-HIPPA Law questions. One of the questions on the questionnaire that he was asked was “have you been out of the country in the past 30 days”, which he had – Jamaica…
It is standard policy across the nation to self-quarantine after returning from abroad, especially on airliners that have close cabin proximity which allow for an easier infection to be made possible. Instead of being sensible and honest, Warden Croucher simply avoided the precautions that had been put in place and jeopardized every single inmate and fellow corrections officer in the process.
Shouldn’t those people there be tested as well as …the warden to make sure they are all okay? – C.C.J Officer
It should be noted that many officers and staff members at the Cuyahoga County Jail have expressed extreme concern over the Warden’s actions. One officer who has worked for the jail for more than 15 years had the following to say regarding the situation. “Now if anyone else under him in rank had of said they were out of the country they would have probably been denied access to the jail and sent home. But because he is the warden that gives him the right to come in and possibly expose his whole staff and jail officers because he is the warden? Shouldn’t those people there be tested as well as him as the warden to make sure they are all okay?”.
HAWK Says: The Warden is currently in self-isolation quarantine, however, this does little good for any corrections officers or inmates at the jail considering he waltzed through the building immediately after his return anyways. Time for another new Warden!
The Bottom Line
SCUMBAGGED Tip: Cuyahoga County Jail just can’t seem to find a dedicated Warden who takes pride in his job, respects those alongside him in the workplace and or understands that individuals (locked up or otherwise) are entitled to essential and core-based treatment that anyone deserves in America.
